Alex Taylor
Alex Taylor graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Masters in Engineering. He started his career in 1997, designing x86 motherboards, industrial computers and LCD touchscreen monitors. After a period of working in web application development and UI design, he returned to the embedded computing industry and, shortly afterwards, co-founded Quixant, a manufacturer of platforms for gaming machines such as casino slot machines.
He headed up a division of an international embedded computing company, developing products to allow medical, industrial and automotive manufacturers to add stunning touch screen, graphical user interfaces to their products with minimal effort. He then moved to the world of mobile operators, as Head of Technical Specifications for T-Mobile International and, later, Deutsche Telekom, analysing technology, creating device requirements and working on new product innovations taking advantage of device and Internet technologies.
